Chamomile is member of the botanical family asteraceae (sunflower), also known as mayweed. We could found this flowering plant, both annual and perennial, prized for both its ornamental beauty and its essential oil. One of the most popular varieties is German Chamomile (matricaria recutita). Like others of its species, chamomile has thin divided leaves and daisylike flowers with large cone-shape centers.
The flowers are dried and brewed into a tea that is well-known to soothe nerves. The flowers are rich in oil, and once dried, are used to flavor jams, jellies, puddings, cookies, and cakes.
